– Cop removed for torturing innocent man into confession
The police colonel in charge of Aranyaprathet police station has been ‘Removed’ from office by the provincial police chief after reports that the husband of a woman found drowned was tortured into confessing to causing her demise.   Now known to have been attacked and drowned by 5 local youths INCLUDING a policeman’s son,  Thai media, which also discovered the CCTV tapes that implicate the youths, reports that audio tapes from the man’s INTERVIEW show that he was forced to confess despite being innocent.   The current investigation is being overseen with Thailand popular deputy police chief ‘Big Joke’ Hakparn.

– Thai-German nabbed for publishing clips of minors on dark-web 
A Thai-German resident in the north east has been arrested following reports shared with Thai police by German authorities that showed him to have shared abusive video clips involving youngsters.  Using the so-called dark web he published photographs and videos, the police raid this week discovered further evidence  AND COMPUTERS.    With his bail request refused, please fully expect more locals to come forward with complaints.

– Ministry seeks assistance from Red Cross for release of Thais in Hamas
Thailand’s foreign ministry has asked the assistance of the  International Committee of the Red Cross in securing the release of the remaining 8 Thai workers currently held by Hamas.  The collateral prisoners have been held for over 3 months with the majority of those previously held released and returned to Thailand.

– Major lithium deposits discovered in Phang-nga province
In Pang nga province,  miners have now got the go ahead to develop Lithium mines predicted to produce nearly 15 million tons of the highly valuable element used in battery production and for medical treatment.   With the possibility that the Thai mines could compete efficiently with the two global lithium production leaders, Bolivia and Argentina , this then could enhance the nation’s plan to become an inexpensive EV production hub.

– Foreign gang arrested for scamming tourists in Bangkok
Two illegal Vietnamese immigrants were nabbed this week after scamming tourists at the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Seems they pickpocketed the unwary and then used their own card machine to steal funds.  Half a million baht in one case, reading police to target them.

– Former Thai boxer beats man found in daughter’s bedroom
One vile man in Songkhla got his comeuppance as an 18 yr old cried out when she woke to find a man in her room at 2 AM.  Dad heard her and came to her rescue.  Dad, a former Muay Thai boxer, gave the attacker a severe pasting before hog tying him. The would-be rapist was, reportedly, relieved when police arrived and took him away.

– Men get unexpected shock while hunting for birds in Pattaya
Hunters out in the Nong prue area came a cropper when they cimed power pylons in an attempt to snare birds.  Medics found one dead and another severely injured from electric shocks and the snares by their side.

– 700 sq. meter fishing net removed from Sattahip corals
Coral off the shoreline in Sattahip has been effectively DE-Netted by volunteer diver after a 700 sq metre fishing net was discovered to have blanketed a large area, causing issues for the coral and sea life.  The teams first cut the netting into manageable pieces and then removed each, leaving the coral area again able to recover. Believed to have been LOST by fishermen, there is no way of tracing it.

– 4am closing times not so popular with party goers
Busy weekend expected in the city here, but many are pointing out that the new 4AM closing times are actually proving to NOT be as popular with revelers as expected.  In addition to extra staffing costs, the number of revelers out on the town at that time hasn’t been impressive seeing many who did plan to open to the max, reviewing their opening times.
