– PM vote next week as parliament saga continues
In the continuing saga of WHO wants to be a Prime minister, THIS week’s candidate, proposed by the Pheu thai party may get his chance to see a date set for the 22nd. But don’t be fooled, as in any good soap opera, those minor parties that he was cajoled into joining his planned coalition, are not acting as planned, in fact, just as Pheu thai dumped their former partners, Move Forward, so the same COULD be happening to them now as there is NO guarantee that K Anutin’s Bhum Jai Thai party will vote for him, unless they do a deal before hand that guarantees Anutin’s party certain high ranking positions. Wow, you think that’s a soap opera? It gets better. As many Thai experts are predicting that if or when the Pheu Thai party candidate ISN’T elected as PM, then, the next proposal could be… current deputy PM Prawit. Yes the very same PM and former general, deputy to gen Prayut and .. well you get the picture.

– Chinese Rolls Royce owner ‘misunderstood’, demands compensation
Without a shadow of doubt, the spirit of compassion has disappeared into the clouds as of yesterday as the Rolls Royce owner whose car was rear ended by a pickup truck on the BKK motorway has filed with police for compensation. The tale of a kindly and forgiving Roller owner evaporated into a cloud yesterday as it was clarified that a series of miscommunications led to the pickup owner thinking he had got off scott free. Reality is that the Chinese roller wasn’t waving off the coast but waving the driver in an attempt to spur him into following to the side of the road and then to a repair centre. The repair cost is likely to exceed the total cost of the pickup when it was new.. let’s hope the Chinawoman has insurance.

– Aussie fugitive caught hiding in Thailand
When an Australian man fled his home country ahead of arrest on drug charges, he thought Thailand to be the ideal escape destination. Wrong. As Robert Wainwright will attest to, cops here and in his home country quickly put two and two together and he was nabbed ON Phuket last week according to reports released this week. Seems he brought his girlfriend with him too, and SHE paid all the bills to avoid him being detected, but then again the Australian authorities have her listed as a person of interest too.

– Facebook scam warning in Thailand
A warning is out to all here in Thailand that online scams are becoming increasingly the norm, with facebook being the worst culprit host, globally, many are setting up fake profiles for businesses here, and touting for money. The old adage applies, if it looks too good to be true it probably is. Buyers are offered anything from a watch to hotel accommodation, with sellers saying they have bought in bulk to secure unmatchable deals. The buyers pay.. and the sellers block them. Recently hotels have been scammed here in the region, seeing fake websites setup and customers arriving to find there is no room booked for them. REALITY.. all real super deals will be on the business websites too. After all, they want to sell them. And buying through services like agoda give you the right to refund if scalped. On fb, despite using your debit or credit card.. you have ZERO protection mainly as you are transferring cash to someone’s account and NOT actually paying for goods..
Recently on Koh Larn and Koh Samet, arrivees at hotels where they thought they had bought and paid for rooms, found themselves without accommodation as those hotels were fully booked and minus their names on the list. Again. Buying ANYTHING on social media is a huge risk. Better to agree to a price but insist on only paying on delivery or arrival. If it’s a genuine seller they will agree.
