– Foreigner released on bail for slaying of tourist in Bangkok
In Taiwan, one of the alleged killers of a fellow national here has been released on bail by authorities there after being taken into custody and charged with being the main player in the killing that was reported here, when another gangster was lured to a home and subsequently found dumped near the main airport.  Since then, a Thai woman, also involved, was caught in Cambodia and others, we’re told, remain on the run.

– Good news for residents in Thailand
Good news for residents here and businesses as the Energy minister has gone on record to state that the rate per unit for electricity will NOT rise until at least after August, when the hot season ends.  Due for review in APRIL, he told the press that the ministry wants to freeze the rates and maybe later lower them as the cost of fuels, such as liquid gas, has dropped on the world markets AND PTT exploration companies will be able to supply from the gulf too.

– (VIDEO) Thai woman kicked off illegal villa steps by angry expat
A Swiss man and his wife, living on Phuket, will have to remove steps that they built on public land, leading to their beachside home after HE had claimed that a Thai tourist couple were trespassing when they sat on the steps for a rest while walking the area.  Making matters worse, he videoed it all and his own clip catches him kicking the woman in the back as he and his wife approached from behind to berate them.  Authorities are happy that they own their home legally BUT the step from it to the shoreline.. aren’t there for sure.  He certainly picked on the wrong couple, it turns out that they are highly educated AND filed police complaints which are being addressed as the man swore profusely at them whilst the wife, allegedly, claimed that SHE had friends in high places, who would sort them out.

– 329 million baht assets seized from online gambling gang
329 million bahts worth of assets have been seized from a gang operating an online gambling operation which is illegal in Thailand.  12 locations were raided seeing the website closed and 4 were arrested. Now, minus their Porsches and Mercedes, designer wear and gold, they have been charged and face court appearances.  Records referencing some 200 THOUSAND online gamblers were also seized during the raid.

– 20 million bahts worth of narcotics seized at airport
Drug dealers in Australia face a shortage of supply thanks to customs officials at BKK main airport where heroin, hidden in tubes of moisturizing cream, was seized from the parcel centre.  Estimated to be worth over 20 million baht, airport officials now scan the majority of parcels travelling overseas and this may just be the top of the iceberg.

– Brit jogs 2,100km across Thailand for orphans
For some, a wander on a hot day is too much, but for one Preston Uk man, he just finished a 50 day jog, covering the 2100 Km from to the northern tip of Thailand to furthest southern point, all in the name of charity.  Despite the soi dogs chasing him,the sun and of course the heat, 33 year old Chris Russell made it to the south where, relieved, a local resort gave him a well earned rest.  On his way he raised around 240,000 baht for Thai childrens orphanages and schools via online donations. Previously he has done long, but shorter runs in the Uk for other worthy causes and now looks forward to break in Malaysia before returning to BKK, this time, not on foot.

– Foreigner jailed for operating illegal nightclub with fake Thai ID
A Chinese man has been sentenced to two years in a Thai prison by the Pattaya courts this week, found guilty of using a fake Thai ID card AND operating what’s been described as an illegal night club.   Nabbed by authorities back in 2022 at the time, the press were told that various nefarious activities were carried on in the club AND that he had not come quietly when arrested but rather.. claimed that he had friends in high places.  They obviously DIDN’T come to his rescue.

– Gunmen wanted for Pattaya shooting
An arrest warrant has been issued for two men who shot a rival teen in a drug related incident.  Seems a handful of them fell out after previously working together AND all names are known to police.   The victim was found in a rented home in Nong prue alongside another pal who had been beaten before fleeing.   It is believed that in total EIGHT men on motorbikes approached the duo following a series of online slanging matches.
