Panic merchants are plying the story of Monkeypox having been found in Thailand, in actual fact, whilst it gets clicks for websites, the fact is that a single person was discovered to have the virus , IN AUSTRALIA,  having transited through Thailand’s main airport. Not detected here but only later, as a matter of precaution the dept of disease control is monitoring 12 people, mostly passengers and crew, who were within the man’s vicinity. Other tales of discovery of the virus on Phuket, turned out to be.. Herpes.. still not nice, but far from the Monkeypox mania.

The board of the Oil Fund has approved a price increase for Diesel of 1 baht a litre, taking commercially used truck diesel to a maximum of 32.94 baht.  As you will remember, the state has a current maximum cap of 35 baht a litre but has worked to keep prices at a far lower price to avoid cost hikes in transported supplies here.  The rise is said to be due to a further increase in the cost of crude oil globally and is the result of a weekly review. For those buying premium diesel, which contains additives designed to assist diesel engines to stay clean and last longer, prices are way higher as the cap does not apply to those.

Thailand’s Personal data protection act goes into force tomorrow which is intended to keep information gleaned by companies or websites from being shared or sold.  With some collecting basic data, names, address, email and phone, and others collecting mass data, the sale of private information will see massive fines in the future. Those USING personal data are now required to advise those persons concerned of their actions and reasons.  Which, perhaps, is why you are seeing more pop ups on regular websites that you have to click to approve.

The sad report from emergency services of a 4 yr old lad who drowned in a swimming pool at a home in the region, seems he was allowed to play around the pool whilst adults were on the other side of the house in Bang Saray. Ss the hot weather continues, it’s imperative that parents NEVER allow non swimmers OR youngsters near or in pools alone

A convicted pedoph!le who collected a mass of indecent images before being caught in his home country of SCOTLAND, has been arrested here in the region after a joint operation between British and Thai police. William Dempster, from Lanarkshire fled here in 2014. Detained in Pattaya he will be deported directly back to the UK  and faces a considerable jail sentence.

Shooting three family members in Ban Bueng district, while drunk, led to a mans arrest there but the 38 year old faced more than murder charges, in fact he was nearly lynched by the remaining family, as police took him toi re-enact his crime. At the scene, family members gathered and police had to remove him, swiftly, to avoid retaliation.

Following several emails to our statin regarding the latest Indian TOURIST to have been ROBBED of gold, and complaints that we infer that some, if not all of the 7 recent cases may be insurance frauds, we apologise to anyone who may have misunderstood our reports and who might have genuinely not known that wearing gold worth 9 months minimum wage here in dark nightlife areas after midnight whilst intoxicated is taking a huge risk. Especially whilst engaging with those offering SPECIAL SERVICES. Insurance companies, meanwhile are on alert for claims of gold loss and may well add stupidity to their list of exclusions.

Thailand & Pattaya News, from Fabulous 103fm (27 May 2022) Currently it is still a legal requirement for all here in Thailand to wear face masks in any public place. Yesterday saw the Public Health Ministry explain clearly that it is hoped that by mid next month, within certain provinces, including bkk and pattaya, there will be changes.  This though is NOT cast in stone as it is, so far […]
