A comment by the deputy PM that is seen by many as an indication of a national election toward the end of the year, has been disclaimed by the PM. With the deputy PM reported in national press as stating that there COULD be a house dissolution in November and that that was his OWN opinion and not that of the state, it’s also been noted that a reception dinner is being held for leaders of ALL active political parties, hosted by the PM himself, tonight. Publicly the PM has stated that such a decision would, if considered bye based on the situation, but that he saw no reason to discuss it with the press as of now.

As plans are afoot locally to prepare for the traditional side of Songkran celebrations, still no word from city hall as to whether the extended days, practiced here from Naklua to past Jomtien will be allowed. With various advisories together with restrictions in place, it’s believed that city hall must rely on the provincial offices and they on the state for a thumbs up… or down.

As the weather reaches the hot point for the season, but with the continued storms, residents here are reminded to… check their shoes. With the tradition of leaving your shoes at the entrance to a home, house owners are reminded that they provide a potentially warm and protected shelter for toads, but also SNAKES. Look before you slip them on, to make sure it’s only you that’s wearing them.
