Funeral rites held for cave rescue footballer in UK
The funeral takes place today in the UK, for the 18 year old Thai football student who, having survived the Chiang Mai cave rescue, passed away IN the UK whilst at a football training academy. Known as Nong Dom, the keen soccer player was idolized by many before being found unconscious in his dormitory and rushed to hospital. Few post mortem reports have yet to be released, however his family HERE accepted his passing and plan to hold ceremonies today here in Thailand, with his ashes to be returned and a full service then. Nong Dom was a former member of the Wild Boar teen team in Chiang Mai province whose rescue was covered globally and involved teams from multiple countries seeing all, at the time, saved. The formal inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death in the UK.

Phone app scam nets 16 million
A general warning has been issued regarding a call centre scam this week as a 40 year old local chonburi business owner took a call purporting to be from the International Trade department. Asking him to download an app to update his data with them. For whatever reason he fell for it, and as a result their app took over HIS phone and cleared a claimed 16 million from his bank account as, we are told, the app accessed his online banking. Claiming they were a government agency updating info on entrepreneurs. He watched as the money disappeared, trying at the same time to first block the app then turn the phone off, but in 10 minutes.. the dosh was gone.

Activist exposes senior police outside police HQ
Another Thai man has come forward to expose what he claims as an illegal online gambling operation run, according to him, by some very senior POLICEMEN. The man posted a banner outside the Royal Thai police HQ with a comprehensive list of officers he claims are involved. 16 names, and the promise of another 100 in the pipeline. This follows on from claims, not proven, by activist and former massage businessman Chuvit who has outed numerous highly placed officials, along with Chinese gangsters. Claims which have, so far, proven to be true.

Water meter thief targets 200+ homes
When western Bangkokians noticed their water supply had stopped, they called the water company. Reps came out, to discover some 200 water meters in a small area had all been stolen. A 21 year old was nabbed by police who plan to charge him with theft at night, a much greater crime than daytime theft. His story.. he needed the money for gambling. Word is that the water was back on the same day.

Songkran water festival gets green light
Meanwhile at home and city hall has confirmed plans for the biggest, wildest and wettest of Songkran in the city , expected to see the sois full of tourists from overseas and of course within Thailand. The first full on Songkran since before the covid era.. love it or hate it.. it’s a done deal.
