Thailand’s Deputy National Police Chief announced Monday that he WILL file charges against 110 immigration officers accused of issuing visas to foreigners, including Chinese, some involved in the so-called grey and black market businesses here. With some issuing visas without the applicants ever stepping fot in an immigration office, even of photos, one are of serious clamp down nationwide is expected to be student and volunteer visas which will, from now on, be much closer scrutinized.

British expat under investigation for murder of Thai wife
British police are here in Thailand investigating the death of a Thai woman in Yorkshire 19 yrs ago. Discovered in 2004, she was buried at the cost of locals who donated to the then unknown woman who was subsequently ID’d from DNA and found to have been the wife of a British man, now an expat here. Enquiries will be made with family and he to is likely to be questioned, having started a new life here.

14 million Baht worth of counterfeit cosmetics seized in Bangkok
The warning is it NOT to buy cheap cosmetics online as consumer cops raided 2 locations in the capital seizing fake cosmetics and medical supplies said to be worth 14 million baht retail. In addition to the chinese made stuff being fake, the danger extends to that it then has not been tested or medically approved by any authority and in the past, fake cosmetics have caused serious skin damage to consumers.
Elderly couple drugged & locked up by children
A 67 year old man in Chachoengsao has told police that both he and his wife were drugged and locked up by their children. With an estate worth 100 Mill baht, the man only escaped after persuading a postman to message his nephew. During the period of incarceration, his wife is said to have died as they were kept on very menial rations. Police initially visited the home but were denied entry and a warrant was to be sought quickly.

As a fire broke out in Sriracha yesterday at an oil treatment plant firefighters from the region were working to control the blaze which was filling the area with dense smoke.
Three arrested in Naklua extortion case
Three suspects have been arrested , charged with pretending to be government officials and extorting 8,000 baht from a Naklua couple. With 3 more being sought, and warrants issued for all, police reports show that they beat the man and his brother, before taking the money AND THE BROTHER away. No word on his whereabouts but Banglamung police are hot on the case.
