Missing Brit FOUND
A huge thanks to our listeners and viewers, along with numerous facebook pages who hosted our report on a missing British man on Thursday.  As a result of your help, and several reports TO us of sightings, we are told that he is well.  Showing that a community CAN work together, and that there is far more to the expats and tourist groups in Pattaya and indeed Thailand than many choose to imagine. We will have a follow up to this report on Monday.

Search continues for missing radioactive cylinder
All scrap dealers in the Prachinburi factory area have been contacted by police following the disappearance of a cylinder containing a radioactive isotope from a power plant. As the search continues, worry is that the thieves, who will now find it hard to sell, will dump it AND that it may take years to find it.  Photos of the cylinder have been circulated in all press with the public warned NOT to touch it.

Mental health checks for Thai cops
The head of the office of inspector general of the police has ordered medical teams to carry out random mental health checks on serving policemen of all ranks following the 27 hour siege in the capital where a senior cop holed himself in his home, firing shots first in the air and later at those surrounding him.   Seniors are also being asked to report any subordinates whom they feel have mental issues and the public too are encouraged to report any odd cops they come across.    The policeman in this week’s incident had also been fired on and subsequently injured himself while jumping from a window, later passing away in hospital.

Use of the Tik Tok application, popular here, is being reviewed by senior civil servants after BRITAIN became the latest nation, along with the EU and much of the US has banned its use in government buildings of any kind.  Concern?  Is that the Chinese operated app GIVES  or could give its owners access to phones without people knowing AND be used to gather data.

Nigerian busted for romance scamming Thai women
A 34 yr old Nigerian living in the Pattaya area was arrested yesterday charged with online fraud. Seems he was one of those scammers who message loney THAI women pretending to be someone they aren’t, falling in love without meeting and persuading them to send him money.  How much did he scam? Well, so far police estimate that at 300,000K baht.  And for sure he was just a player in a much larger gang but to defraud the lonely hearted.
